Five Star Franchising Names Mike Miller VP of Franchise Development
Mike Miller joins Five Star Franchising as VP of Franchise Development, bringing expertise to expand brands and foster franchisee success.
Five Star Franchising, an umbrella franchisor of home services brands, has welcomed Mike Miller as vice president of franchise development. He will foster the growth of Bio-One, 1-800-Packouts and 1-800-Textiles. He brings 15 years of experience in franchise development management and leadership to the role.
Miller was attracted to Five Star Franchising because of its partnership with Princeton Equity Group, a New Jersey-based private equity firm. He is also aligned with Five Star’s core values, enjoys its welcoming culture and looks forward to developing a team of franchise professionals. “Our existing owners are already enjoying the benefits of revamped training and support programs to help empower their growth, and at the same time, our development teams are exceeding our quarterly and annual new unit targets,” Miller said.
In addition to Miller, Five Star recently named Danessa Itaya president of Bio-One. Five Star’s leadership team looks forward to seeing Miller take on this position. “Mike has a proven track record of helping great franchise systems drive growth. His passion and experience will help our brands expand in high-demand areas and empower success,” said J. Andrew Mengason, chief growth officer for Five Star Franchising.
Leveling the Playing Field
Miller got his start in franchising by answering an ad in the newspaper for a position in franchise development with a graphic design and production service company. Little did he know that opportunity would lead him to where is today. To him, franchising levels the playing field because entrepreneurs from all walks of life have the same opportunity for personal freedom through franchise ownership.
He urges hopeful entrepreneurs to do their homework and complete the discovery process before investing in a franchise. He suggests refraining from forming opinions based on Google searches and talking to as many franchise owners as possible.
He believes that franchisors shouldn’t lose sight of why they began franchising in order to evolve with the changing climates and stay ahead of standards and changes.
